First off—Thank you!
Before we get into the meat and beans of our weekend update (see what I did there?), let me give a big shout out to all of you who honored us for Pastor’s appreciation month this last weekend. From all the pastoral team (including Rebecca, Todd, Pete and me)—thank you for the gifts, prayers, and thoughtfulness. You guys rock.
This weekend, in addition to our regular (awesome) gathering, we’re also getting together for a Chili Cook-off and Family Night. We’re going to have lots going on, and you’re not going to want to miss it. We’ll have a movie playing *outside* on the lawn (weather permitting), with lawn games for the adults. Oh—and we’re also having a cook-off competition, so bring your favorite recipe and enter to win our NewHeart Chili Chief Bowl.
What to bring. An appetite, a dish to share (chili, cornbread, or some other side), a lawn chair, and fun. (don’t forget to bring the fun).
We’re also announcing the date of our first ever NewHeart Night of Thanks, on Sunday November 22nd. This night will be a great way for us to join together, to eat, and give thanks to God for all the ways He’s blessed us (both individually and corporately). Save the date.

Chili Cook-off and Family Night
Bring a Friend, and come out for an awesome time connecting with the NewHeart church family! There will be a chili contest so cook up your favorite “secret” recipe and bring it out. (You can also bring other chili themed pot-luck dishes to share) We will also be barbecuing hot dogs and for the young ones there will be a movie playing in the Worship Center.

Help a Child in Need.
We’re collecting boxes for Operation Christmas Child, and you can make a difference in a child’s life. You can include: Toiletries, toys, stuffed animals, school supplies, hard candy, and whatever God puts in your heart! (No chocolate, no liquids, please.)
