NewHeart Church is growing…and our newest member joined the world this past week.  

Rebecca and I are blessed beyond measure with the arrival of our fourth son, Evan Caleb Fox—NewHeart’s newest member 😉  Rebecca and baby are both doing well—and cannot wait to see you guys soon (probably in the next week or so).

A big thank you to everyone who has prayed for us, visited us, and served us through meals, etc.  We’re so thankful for the awesome NewHeart family.

In addition to our newest ‘addition’ theres also lots of other new stuff going on here at NewHeart. We’ve got a parenting class starting this week, Small Groups kicking off later in February, and a Kids Game Night (and Parents Night out) coming soon.  There’s even more than that—be sure to read through all of the upcoming events below.

As we continue forward into this New year, it is my prayer that you would find your place to Connect here at NewHeart—grow in your relationship with God and others through one of our small groups, and finally find your place to serve God and your church family.

 Kids Game & Movie Night (and Parents Night Out!)

Friday, February 12th, 6-9pm
Calling all Kids to our Game and Movie night.  This Kids Church event will be filled with fun and games for our Kids—which just so happens to provide a “Parent’s night out” right around Valentines Day. 😉  Church is supposed to be fun—and we’re going to have lots of it with high energy games and activities to keep our little ones active, and we’ll finish off our night with a movie.  More details here »

 Join a Small Group |  Story Formed Series

A 10-Week Study — Starting Wednesday February 24, 2016
Small groups are where we GROW in our relationship with God, and with other people—But how do we get connected to a Small Group?  Join us for our Small Groups kick off starting on February 24th right here at NewHeart.  Each week we will gather for a potluck, group teaching, and then break into smaller groups for discussion.   The Story formed way is a 10 week, story based discussion that is appropriate for all ages and experience levels.   Come try out this format for 10 weeks—you’re gonna love it.  Childcare will be provided.  More details and signups coming soon.

Saturday March 5th from 10am-5pm | Suggested donation of $10.
Join us for a women’s day retreat featuring “The Pottery Lady”, Carole Wolaver. She will be teaching on the subjects of “Hands to Worship, Hearts to Serve, Feet of Clay” and The story of Mary and Martha as told from Martha’s perspective.  You won’t want to miss this powerful time, with Lunch included.  Suggested donation of just $10.   More Details here »

First off—Thank you!

Before we get into the meat and beans  of our weekend update (see what I did there?), let me give a big shout out to all of you who honored us for Pastor’s appreciation month this last weekend.  From all the pastoral team (including Rebecca, Todd, Pete and me)—thank you for the gifts, prayers, and thoughtfulness. You guys rock.

This weekend, in addition to our regular (awesome) gathering, we’re also getting together for a Chili Cook-off and Family Night.  We’re going to have lots going on, and you’re not going to want to miss it.  We’ll have a movie playing *outside* on the lawn (weather permitting), with lawn games for the adults.  Oh—and we’re also having a cook-off competition, so bring your favorite recipe and enter to win our NewHeart Chili Chief Bowl.

What to bring.  An appetite, a dish to share (chili, cornbread, or some other side), a lawn chair, and fun.  (don’t forget to bring the fun).

We’re also announcing the date of our first ever NewHeart Night of Thanks, on Sunday November 22nd. This night will be a great way for us to join together, to eat, and give thanks to God for all the ways He’s blessed us (both individually and corporately). Save the date.

Chili Cook-off and Family Night

Bring a Friend, and come out for an awesome time connecting with the NewHeart church family! There will be a chili contest so cook up your favorite “secret” recipe and bring it out. (You can also bring other chili themed pot-luck dishes to share)  We will also be barbecuing hot dogs and for the young ones there will be a movie playing in the Worship Center.

Help a Child in Need.
We’re collecting boxes for Operation Christmas Child, and you can make a difference in a child’s life. You can include: Toiletries, toys, stuffed animals, school supplies, hard candy, and whatever God puts in your heart!  (No chocolate, no liquids, please.)
